Having its own quarries and focusing on the quality of raw materials, SVG, in obtaining the roughness effects required in outdoor architecture, for years had to face the issue of raw material deterioration due to flaming or sandblasting processing that compromised materials from a physical-chromatic point of view. In fact, this type of processing causes the physical mechanical characteristics of the stone to deteriorate: the materials melt, the crystals burn and the colour changes, it loses brightness – black, key part of the production, turns grey, yellow turns pink and white turns yellow. For a company that promotes the variety and quality of colours in its catalogue,
this is a huge strategic and economic problem: the negative effects of the product directly affect the image of the company, conveyed by materials that, losing their quality and brightness, undergo a depreciation with respect to the original value of the raw material. The Hydrofinish^TM technology has solved this problem: at the end of the processing the materials are bright and shiny and therefore do not lose any quality.
The highly productive Waterstone WS160 hydrofinishing line, purchased by SVG, is fully automatic and equipped with a system for loading and unloading the slabs in order to enhance processing speed: the machine guarantees a production cycle around 40-70 sqm/h also thanks to the 160 KW intensifier pump up to 2,500 Bar.
To date, each month SVG exports between 8-10 containers of slabs and products of various materials processed with Hydrofinish^TM technology.

In addition to finishing for granting roughness to the slab, the plant provides a wide range of surface decorative options: by placing screens on the slab, the water jet draws geometric effects with a perfect processing profile. In fact, the water jet at extremely high pressure pushes the screen even further onto the slab, isolating the open area to be decorated from the “screened” area.

The negotiation took place inside the Verona international trade fair stand: the customer was able to test the quality of Hydrofinish^TM technology on their materials and immediately understood the added value that such equipment would have brought to their company. The partnership that Waterjet Corporation has with Breton regarding stone materials has provided support in finalising the sale: the customer, in fact, relying on Breton to supply certain technologies for stone processing, proves to have high standards, requiring quality, technological advancement, innovation and willing to pay a premium to access these features. This is the mindset with which SVG has purchased Waterjet technology.
