Evistone
Evistone is a Belgian brand founded in 1999 by Gaëtan Ferrara, an Italian-Belgian entrepreneur with a long tradition in stone material processing: today Evistone stands out on the national market as a leader in creations dedicated to the world of art, design, and luxury.
Located in the province of Liège, Evistone has a 400 sqm showroom and a 10,000 sqm production site. The relationship with Waterjet Corporation dates back more than five years ago: during Marmomac in fact, the owner of Evistone, Gaëtan Ferrara focuses his attention on the Italian company, wishing to seize the opportunity to finalise the purchase of a technology able to provide an advantage to his company.
The auspicious moment arrives in 2018: also thanks to the advantageous Belgian fiscal system, Ferrara decides to finalise the purchase of a standard 5-axis machine with a 2×4 m worktop for cutting ceramics for the production of kitchen tops. With disc cutting in fact, when operating at 45° on the profile of the ceramic slabs the risk of chipping the piece is extremely high and water-jet cutting technology allows them to solve this problem.
The purchasing intent of Ferrara changes however when, during his visit to the Waterjet headquarters, he is granted direct access to the technological potential of the Monza company, and thus immediately recognises the new possibilities that open up to him: Ferrara immediately grasps the potential business development that Waterjet Corporation can provide and decides to raise the bar by opting to purchase a machine significantly more advanced than the original plan. His choice falls on a very large machine with a 3×6 m worktop equipped with a triple technology – Waterjet, 5 axes for 3D processing, Hydrofinish and Plasma XPR 170 with high definition.
The production potential of Waterjet has sparked the idea in Ferrara’s mind of also being able to work on behalf of third parties, and to pursue this goal Stone Business was born, a new specifically dedicated company that serves Evistone for processing stone materials and other companies for the remaining applications that the machine is able to deliver.
It is therefore obvious how Waterjet Corporation, for this occasion, is able to provide solutions as well as advanced technologies.
From a technical point of view the machine combines water cutting – the latest waterjet cutting technology with 6,200 bar for cutting at high speed and high thickness up to 300 mm – with Hydrofinish technology for surface decorative processing and integrates the latest generation of Hypertherm plasma which is the XPR with extremely high definition, which provides the main advantage in the processing of ferrous materials. Thanks to the large size of the worktop it is therefore possible to work simultaneously on several distinct areas by using multiple technologies; or to work with very large slabs and thus focus on strategic sectors for Belgium such as the naval sector and structural steelwork in general. In summary, the customer has equipped themselves with a combined machine to serve any type of industry, providing extremely high value.
