Luxury Rocks

Luxury Rocks is a Portuguese company based in Ucha, in the Barcelos district, specialised in the transformation of granite and marble for the furniture and coatings sector. The company was founded in 2019 within the international orbit Spatium Petra, which is divided into companies based in Europe and Africa, all active in the natural stone processing sector.

The Portuguese company, following a process of industrial renewal, started in parallel with the purchase of a new production site, has implemented an ambitious industrial investment plan that has been declined on different types of machinery: among the technologies with which Luxury Rocks is equipped there is also the complete line of high productivity hydrofinishing and automation of Waterjet Corporation.
The production line includes the Waterstone WS 122 machine for hydrofinishing treatment, an automated sheet unloading system with a tilter and Brushstone system with four heads for brushing and bush-hammering to create a soft surface, eliminating the processing ridges obtaining the typical antique leather effect. If, on the other hand, one of the four heads present is replaced with the bush-hammering system, the list of finishes that the customer can obtain with a single system is expanded even more.

Therefore, a very flexible line that puts the customer in a position to produce many different effects.

The line has been customised with an automated system for loading and positioning the pre-cut aluminium masks: these masks, which are applied on the surface as a sort of frame for screen printing, in combination with the rotating head of the water-finish, generate an infinite list of graphic contrasting and plastic effects on the slab.

The relationship with this customer, started on the occasion of the past editions of Marmomacc in Verona, has also taken shape with the supply to the subsidiary company Marlin Natural Stone Slab Sales based in Angola of a stand alone Waterstone model machine for the surface treatment of granite blocks 2 m long and 500 m high. The machine has been customised for the client with a second special rotating head system that also allows the side of the block to be worked: the machine is equipped, in fact, with two processing heads, one that moves horizontally and the other that moves vertically on the side.
The main necessity in this case, given the simplicity of the technical application was the guarantee of having a high-performance and reliable machine: Waterjet also responded on these aspects.
