Waterjet Corporation customises suprema for Officine Belletti
Waterjet Corporation recently assisted Officine Belletti in the supply of a solution, designed and built according to their processing needs. The mechanical company Officine Belletti, which can boast an important success story in the naval plant sector, specialised today in the production of flanges, spare parts and water systems for the naval, industrial and civil sectors, has chosen to rely on Waterjet Corporation for the equipment of a Supreme cutting machine with 5 interpolating axes designed for cutting both tubes and sheets. The Supreme DX 812, with useful cutting surface of 4000×2500 mm, was installed at Officine Belletti to work on large slabs of different materials.
The goal was to achieve precision and versatility in cutting, ensuring a high level of productivity. During a visit to Officine Belletti, Waterjet Corporation technicians had the opportunity to interact with the owner Gianfranco Belletti and his technicians to fully understand the specific needs. This collaborative approach brought about the identification of various customisations that would improve the efficiency and flexibility of the machine.
One of the most significant customizations was the addition of a second separate tank for housing a lathe. Thanks to this customisation, Officine Belletti is now able to cut tubes with a maximum diameter of 500 mm. The second tank has been equipped with tailstock and cradles specially designed to support this specific processing need.
Another critical production issue for Officine Belletti is that of having to process different materials, not limited to special steels or other precious materials, but also cheaper materials such as iron. For this reason, the Suprema machine has been equipped with a plasma cutting head: the combination of a waterjet head and a plasma head gives the company the flexibility to choose the most suitable cutting method according to the specific needs of each order being processed.
The machine has been integrated with a 4150 bar Servo pump, customised with a glycol air cooling system, which guarantees the right cooling temperature for the motors of the pump itself without the use of waste water, offering an environmentally friendly and efficient alternative The decision to collaborate with Waterjet Corporation for the acquisition of the Suprema DX 812 cutting machine demonstrates the customer’s attention to technological innovation and the adoption of cutting-edge solutions in order to maintain its position as market leader. On the other hand, it is a clear example of Waterjet Corporation’s commitment to providing these highly customised solutions with the aim of exceeding customer expectations.
Thanks to this partnership, Officine Belletti can now tackle large-scale machining with maximum precision and productivity.
